Chord Epic speaker cable termination guide – ChordOhmic connectors and Hex Gun Posted on 5th April 2019 by Paul Telling Video guide to terminating Chord Company Epic speaker cable, featuring our ChordOhmic 4mm connectors and the new ChordOhmic Hex Gun crimping tool. We are gradually equipping (and training) our retailers and distributors with this tool, so you can be assured of a Chord Co factory-quality termination on any set of Chord Company speaker cable. Press release Chord Company is offering factory-quality speaker cable terminations from its dealer network with the introduction of the new ChordOhmic Hex Gun crimping tool, the A/V and CI installers’ new best friend 4th June 2019, Wiltshire: Chord Company is enabling its customers to obtain factory-quality speaker cable terminations from an increasing number of its UK dealers, thanks to the roll-out of the ChordOhmic Hex Gun crimping tool, a precision instrument capable of delivering consistent terminations every time. The ChordOhmic Hex Gun makes it possible for an expanding group of Chord Company retailers to professionally terminate new speaker cables to factory standards; existing cables can also benefit from the upgrade. All cables are neatly finished with the recently launched ChordOhmic banana or spade plugs, plus the Chord Company ‘trousers’ where specified. The scheme enables consumers to bypass the production queue at the company’s Wiltshire factory and also negates the need for existing cables to be returned to base for upgrading. Fully trained and certified to terminate all speaker cables from the wide-ranging portfolio, selected Chord Company retailers can quickly and easily create bespoke lengths (both in-store and on-site) for a wide range of applications. From hi-fi and home cinema installations to comprehensive multi-room CI projects, dealers can now offer ‘just right’ cable lengths that not only offer that bespoke look but save money on unnecessary metreage. Consumers wishing to obtain factory-quality terminations without the wait are advised to check the availability of the ChordOhmic Hex Gun at their local retailer using Chord Company’s online Dealer Locator tool: https://chord.co.uk/dealers/ A Chord Company produced YouTube video highlights the ChordOhmic Hex Gun process. Comment: This is a great move by Chord Company. Giving access to high-quality cables with bespoke terminations through its network of dealers will definitely boost sales. Alan Gibb, Chord Company’s managing director said, “Historically, crimping has unfairly been seen as a fast, compromised termination option for cable connectors; conversely, this is the termination standard for military and other high-spec connections. Following a 10-year project, we have optimized our ChordOhmic plugs and silver-plated copper cables to give a far superior long-term connection over our previous soldered connectors.” Chord Company contacts for publication Tel: 01980 625700 Email: sales@chord.co.uk Web: chord.co.uk Press contact For further information on Chord Company, images and review requests, please contact Dan George: +44 (0)7899 808918 or dan@dangeorgecommunications.com Images High-res image can be found here Categories: Blog Company News New Stuff Technical Advice and general hi-fi tips Tags: A/V Chord Company chordohmic CI epic hex gun Share: 0 0 Previous post Next post 2 comments on this post Please could you confirm if you need a 5mm hex crimp or would a 5.4mm be suitable?
